My Painted Bathroom

Here's a picture of my bathroom after I got done painting it. It is a lot darker blue than it was before, but I really like it. I'll post more pictures once I find some sort of cheap curtains for the window :)

Bye Bye "Girls"!

I removed the ugly doll wallpaper border from the downstairs bathroom last Sunday & repainted. Matthew commented, "Why do you take the girls down for? I like girls!" :)

But he still helped me tape & paint.

I'll post some pictures of the completed project later. We would have loved to have done a complete remodel, but it just isn't in the budget right now, with me being unemployed.

Spaghetti Face!

Anyone who knows Connor knows that he absolutely LOVES to eat! Well, we had spaghetti for dinner last Sunday, and Connor LOVED it! Of course, what type of food doesn't this kid love? :) I couldn't resist taking a couple of pictures of his "spaghetti face."

Fun in the Sandbox

Connor & Matthew had some fun in the sand on Saturday. Saturday was a gorgeous day here, so yes, we spent most of the day outside in the backyard. :) This was Connor's first experience with sand, as he was too young to really play outside last summer. Matthew got sand all over him, but he didn't cry, so I think he liked it!

I miss the sun! Mother Nature has been downright cruel this week. I guess that's March in Minnesota for you!

Climbing Fun!

We dug this slide out of the basement on Saturday for Connor to play on. I think he enjoyed it, even though he doesn't look all that happy in the middle picture. :) He loves to climb on things in the house, so I thought this would be something fun he could play on outside. I know Matthew enjoyed it when he was little.

16 Months Old

Can you believe this adorable little guy is 16 months old already? I can't, even though he is getting into EVERYTHING! He is a very curious little boy. I love him so much, and I can no longer imagine life without him.

Shoveling

Matthew tried to shovel the remaining snow off the curb last Tuesday. It looks like Matthew is even ready for spring! The bottom picture is kind of comical, with his toy lawnmower being nearby.

A Couple More Spring Photos

Here are a couple more spring photos from this week. Let this be fair warning - you're probably going to be seeing a lot more posts from me while I'm unemployed. After all, blogging is something fun I can do that doesn't cost anything!

I cleaned out the inside of my car yesterday while Connor was napping. I've needed to do that for a long time! I've vacuumed it here & there, but I hadn't wiped it down for quite some time. It's a good thing to have crossed off my "to do" list!

A Day At Grandpa & Grandma's

We went over to my parent's house on Sunday for a visit. The day really didn't go according to plan, but it all worked out in the end. We were supposed to meet at the church for their ham dinner, and then go to Mom & Dad's afterwards. Well, poor Connor got sick in the car on the way there. We were closer to our destination than we were to home when he got sick, so we just kept on driving. I called Mom to let her know that we would meet them at the house instead. We got Connor cleaned up the best we could, and we threw his clothes in the wash. Mom, Dad and Mark went to the church to get the meals "to go." Connor was feeling better by the time the food arrived, so we think it is something he ate. I was having some stomach issues of my own, although I think that was more nerves than anything, with my interview being the next day.

Speaking of the interview, I was informed yesterday that the position has been put on hold, so I don't know what's going to happen there - it's not looking very promising at this point. I am back to my online job search, and I've submitted my resume to a couple of different companies. I've also gotten back in touch with some of the agencies I had talked to last summer. Hopefully something will pan out. In the meantime, I will try and enjoy the extra time I have with my boys. :)

A Boy & His Dog

Matthew & Ginger are great pals. They spend a lot of time together in the backyard. They either chase each other around or just kick back and relax, like they're doing in this picture.

Sidewalk Chalk

Matthew loves to write & draw with sidewalk chalk. Our backyard patio is his canvas. He enjoys writing words, especially his name, and drawing handicapped parking spots, or "owie spots" as he calls them.

Signs of Spring

I have daffodils & tulips coming up in the flower bed in my backyard! These pictures were taken on Saturday, so they are even bigger now. This flower bed gets the most sun, so plants generally start coming up there first. I am SO ready for spring!

Restless in Red Wing

I've managed to catch a doozy of a cold. I slept well for a few hours, but now I just can't get back to sleep. I didn't want to disturb Dave, so I decided to "play" on my computer for a bit, and then I will go downstairs & try to get some rest down there. Connor has the same crud, so he's been cranky, but thankfully he is sleeping. I hope we're feeling better soon - spring colds are NO fun!

Spring Fever!

We have spent a lot of time outside over the past few days. Here are a couple of pictures of Connor from Saturday.

My temp job ended on Friday. I had an interview for a permanent, part-time position yesterday, and I should hear by the end of the week if I got the job or not. I'll keep you posted! At least the weather has been gorgeous while I've been off so far!

No More Speech Therapy!

Today was Matthew's last day at one of his two preschools. It was determined last week that he no longer qualifies for help with his speech, so today was his chance to say goodbye to his classmates there. We are so proud of how far he has come! He will still go to his other preschool three days a week for the rest of the school year. And we will be registering him for kindergarten this week. Matthew is growing up way too fast! I will soon be the mother of a normal kindergartner!

Cars!!!

Connor LOVES to play with Matthew's cars! Matthew was very protective of his cars at first, but he is letting Connor play with them more and more. Connor really looks up to his big brother, and I can tell he gets frustrated when Matthew won't let him play. Matthew is slowly coming around and playing with Connor more. Their favorite thing to do together is to chase each other around on all fours. Goofy boys!

Interview Tomorrow!

I have an interview tomorrow for an HR Assistant position in Red Wing. I'm so excited, yet I'm getting more and more nervous as the day wears on. HR is the field I studied in college, and this job would also be really close to home. Wish me luck, and keep your fingers crossed!
