Family Resemblance

15 Months Old!

Connor is 15 months old today. I can hardly believe it - where has the time gone? My sweet baby boy is growing up WAY too fast. I love listening to him babble and watching him cruise the furniture. I think he could walk on his own if he wanted to - he's just too chicken to let go! My heart still melts every time he calls me "Mama." He's my precious baby boy, even though he is well on his way into toddlerhood.

My Poor Babies

Last week was a LONG week here, to say the least. Matthew was sick on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with a really bad cold. He even had a fever, so he missed 3 days of school. He still has a nasty cough, which will probably go on for a couple more weeks yet, but at least he's feeling better now.

Connor became ill on Thursday. My poor baby had a fever of 102. We gave him Tylenol & fluids & let him sleep as much as he wanted to. Then on Friday, his fever spiked to 104 while he was at Grandma Alice's. Grandma called Dave, who then called me, and Connor was rushed up to urgent care. Turns out he has tonsilitis & an ear infection. Poor baby. He is now on antibiotics, and he is feeling better with each passing day.

Not only have I been battling illnesses at home, but they have been going around work as well. One of my coworkers was out sick for one day, and another was out for three days. I was feeling under the weather yesterday, but I'm feeling better today. It seems like everyone is sick right now. Where is spring?!?

Reflecting on Last Super Bowl Sunday

On this Sunday last year, Connor was very, very sick with pneumonia. Dave & I were so afraid that we might lose him. Dave brought him to the doctor on Super Bowl Sunday morning, and he was admitted to the hospital shortly thereafter. We watched last year's Super Bowl from Connor's hospital room. We are so incredibly thankful that he pulled through and is now a very healthy little boy. We love him so very, very much and can't imagine life without him.

A Boring & Somewhat Productive Weekend

I miss NFL football already, and Super Bowl Sunday isn't even here yet. :( I hate this time of year - football is over, and it is too cold to do anything outside. What's a girl to do? Sure, I played with my kids & watched a couple of movies with my husband, but I'm bored. And when I get bored, I clean.

We picked up a cheap, new vacuum cleaner on Saturday, as our Hoover WindTunnel isn't working - it broke last weekend. So of course, I had to try out the new vacuum when we got it home. I vacuumed every carpeted room in the house! The thing that I love about this new vacuum is how lightweight it is. I will keep using it to clean the stairs, even once we get the more expensive vacuum cleaner fixed.

I also gave the master bedroom a much-needed dusting. That's a good project to have out of the way. Like my computer room, which I dusted last weekend, the master bedroom has a lot of knick knacks & pictures to dust, along with the furniture. It takes time.

And I did the usual laundry. It's amazing how much laundry accumulates for a family of four in just one week!

First Bath in the Tub

Connor took his first bath in the tub on Sunday. He had been bathing in the kitchen sink up until this point, which he is getting much too big for. My baby's growing up way too fast! Anyway, Connor screamed bloody murder thoughout the bath, clinging to the side of the tub for dear life. He was not fond of this new idea! Oh, well - he will eventually learn to like it. Matthew didn't like taking baths in this house at first either, but now he loves them!
